Father’s Feast Pork Chops – Slow Cooker: This creamy 5-ingredient slow cooker pork chop dinner is simple, tasty, and perfect for busy nights. It’s an easy way to make a special, comforting dinner for your family without spending hours cooking.
This 5-ingredient slow cooker father’s feast is the kind of meal where you just add everything and let the slow cooker do all the work, which makes busy family nights feel a little more special. You simply put thick, bone-in pork chops into the crock pot, pour a simple, colorful sauce on top, and let the slow cooker work its magic while you go about your day.
The pork turns out soft and full of flavor, and the sweet-savory sauce tastes like you spent all afternoon cooking, even though it only takes a few minutes to put together. It’s perfect for nights when you want to spoil your husband or partner with a warm, cozy dinner without staying in the kitchen all day.
Serve these saucy pork chops on top of soft mashed potatoes, buttery egg noodles, or steamed white rice to soak up all that colorful gravy. Add a simple green side, like roasted green beans, a tossed salad, or steamed broccoli, to balance out the meal.
Warm dinner rolls or crusty bread are great for dipping into the sauce. If you’re feeding kids, pick sides they already like, such as corn, peas, or carrot sticks — they all go well with this cozy, filling main dish.
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 4 thick-cut, bone-in pork chops (about 2–2½ pounds total)
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 (1-ounce) packet dry ranch dressing mix
- ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
- ½ cup chunky salsa (mild or medium, whichever you like)
Father’s Feast Pork Chops: Directions
- Lay the raw pork chops flat in one layer on the bottom of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. A little overlapping is okay, but try to keep most of the meat touching the bottom of the pot so it cooks evenly.
- In a medium bowl, use a whisk to mix together the cream of chicken soup, dry ranch dressing mix, chicken broth, and chunky salsa. Keep stirring until the sauce looks smooth and you can see small bits of tomato and veggies from the salsa mixed throughout.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the top of the pork chops so each one gets covered. Use the back of a spoon to spread the sauce out over all the meat. Don’t add any extra water — the pork chops and sauce will make plenty of liquid on their own as they cook.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the pork chops are very soft and reach a safe internal temperature of at least 145°F. If your chops are extra thick, cook them closer to the longer end of the time.
- Once the chops are done cooking, gently lift them out of the slow cooker using a wide spatula or tongs, since they will be very tender and may fall apart easily. Place them on a serving plate.
- Stir the sauce left in the slow cooker until it’s smooth. Taste it and add a little more salt or pepper if you think it needs it.
- Spoon the warm, creamy sauce generously over the pork chops and serve right away with your favorite side dishes. If the sauce looks too thin, take the pork chops out first, then let the sauce cook on HIGH with the lid off for 10 to 15 minutes to thicken up before pouring it back over the meat.
