• 3 pounds frozen beef short ribs
• 1½ cups bottled blue sports drink
• 1 packet onion soup mix
• 1 cup barbecue sauce

Slow Cooker Patriotic Sports Beef: Directions

1. Place the frozen beef short ribs into the slow cooker, spreading them out in one even layer so they cook evenly.
2. Pour the blue sports drink slowly and evenly over the short ribs. Then sprinkle the dry onion soup mix across the top, making sure it covers the meat.
3. Spoon the barbecue sauce evenly over everything in the slow cooker. Put the lid on and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours, or on HIGH for 5 to 6 hours, until the beef feels very soft and tender.
4. Carefully lift the short ribs out of the slow cooker and place them on a large plate or bowl. If there’s extra fat floating on top of the liquid, use a spoon to skim it off.
5. Use two forks to shred or pull the beef apart into big chunks. Pour some of the leftover cooking liquid back over the meat and stir gently so every piece is juicy and well coated. Serve warm.
