Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into cubes
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced into rounds
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed tomato soup
- 1 packet onion soup mix
Slow Cooker Amish Beef Stew:Â Directions
- If you’d like clean-up to be a breeze afterwards, lightly grease the inside of your 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with a touch of oil or cooking spray before you get going.
- Place the cubed beef stew meat into the slow cooker first, then add the sliced carrots on top.
- Open the packet of onion soup mix and sprinkle it evenly over the beef and carrots so every piece gets some flavor.
- Spoon the condensed tomato soup on top of everything, spreading it out as best you can.
- Using a big spoon, stir everything together slowly until the beef and carrots are fully coated in the soup and seasoning.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 8 to 9 hours, or on high heat for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef feels very soft and the carrots poke easily with a fork.
- Once it’s done cooking, give the stew one more gentle stir. Taste it to see if you’d like to add a pinch of salt or pepper.
- Scoop the hot stew into bowls and serve right away while it’s warm and cozy.
